Default Peugeot rd4 to RNEG, some issues.

I have year 2005 peugeot 407, witch originally came with rd4 headunit, i got a rneg from 308.
I fitted the head unit with normal stereo frame:
    http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/...NL._SL500_.jpg
The 308 head unit is normal iso size in height just a bit too wide so i cutted ~5mm from the sides, and itse perfect fit.

Display is swapped to rt3 frame witch i got from peugeot.

Electronics were direct fit only had to ad gps antenna & microphone.

Everything else works perfectly but the screen does not show a/c settings or clock, (but ie tripcomputer works normally) i guess this is due 308 has separate display for these?, is there some settings that needs to be done with pps2000? or how can i fix this? Firmware upgrade from 407 etc?

    Hi
You say electronics are the same between RD4 and RNEG, did you just connect the RNEG directly to the back power socket?

Yes i did, then connected the cable from monochrome display to rneg display (4 wires) also lvds cable is in place.

Everything else works except the a/c and clock is not showing.

Hi, this is not the correct way
you have to remove the monochrome display, only leave the large colour screen
Remove pin 15 from the quadlock connector, replace it with pin 3 of the colour screen.
The large colour screen has a brown connector at the back with 6 pins in it, we need pin 1, 2, 3, and 6
join pin 3 and 6 together and connect this to pin 15 of the quadlock connector as explained above
pin 1 of the screen goes to pin 9 of the quadlock
pin 2 of the screen goes to pin 5 of the fakra part B connector

make sure you completely remove pin 15 from the original quadlock connector otherwise you get problems.

this is the correct way of connecting the RNEG, let me know what happens

    Regards

The monochrome display is of course removed.
in rd4 the pin 15 is unused, so there is not even cable attached to it, and i don't think this is wiring issue at all, because everything works except the a/c setting & clock.

Now there are 4 wires in big color screen brown connecter, power and the can-wires, i don't think it needs anything else (lvds from rneg of course)

Or could you explain what those pins are for, because i could not find pinout for rneg or the screen. and rd4 pinouts only say "not in use" for those pins

    Hi
Of course there is Pin 15 in RD4, it is the GND for display, double check and see
Disconnect that, and replace it with pin 3 of the brown connector from the screen
Connect Pin 1 and 2 from the screen as explained above.
After this, you must configure all options in PP2000

    Regards

    Ok, i'll test that
Didn't double check yet, and have to get some pins for those connectors before doing that. That much i tested that i removed, can-wires from rneg display, and only left 12v and gnd, didn't change anything, display still works like before. (shows trip etc)...

Do you have the screen pinout, i would be intrested of that?

    Hi,
    yes check here:
    Pinouts - RT4 Wiki
RT4, RT5 and RNEG have the same pinouts

Also, don't forget to go to configuration in PP2000

look at this photo, i made this wiring loom for my RT4, thats what you have to do

    HA,

Now i know why i couldn't understand your guides

Seems that rneg display from 308 has different connector

the cable goes directly to inside screen, i removed some useless wires (motors that open the screnn & buttons)

that is the exact same that's is in monochrome display so i just plugged it in and it worked, the 12v and gnd comes directly from car's harness not trough rneg, but i don't think that matters? the "BackLight Reg" is missing, don't know what's is purpose of that, maybe i'll ad it.

There's no composite input in rneg display? that sucks i was hoping to get that from some pins...

some pic of 308 rneg fitment to 407, never mind the mess in harness or the cuttings in dash, i had car pc before and it required hardcore mods to get everything fitted

have to check the pps setting if there is something for enabling a/c display...

not sure about that, maybe it should come from RNEG for proper communication/....etc

i will have a look in PP2000 now and tell you if there is any settings for your issue
ps: why don't you fit a 407 RNEG screen instead?

Microphone is not in place, gps-antenna is got that from my friend, some generic antenna that has fakra-connector, seems to work fine. gps-module? i just plugged the antenna to rneg:s gps connector

Can i use any microphone, or does it need to be some psa specific?

edit: the gps antenna cable is actually showing in the other picture.

    Hi
i think it's better to use the PSA microphone, connect it to Pin 3 and Pin 9 of the part B connector
But if you have a cheap microphone you can always try, maybe it will work ??
