Wow great thread, I came here looking for barcode for a mini valeo remote and got more info than i can shake a stick at, thanks all info appreciated.

first time trying to make a key for a pre 04 mini with the 2 button remote. transponder was easy and made new key starts car no problem, the issue im having is programing the remote to it.

now i went to http://www.reeves.tv/mini.html to generate a barcode from the sticker on the remote chip. i used ISTA to input the info on the vehicle, but still couldn't get the remote to work, maybe im imputing the wrong numbers from the barcode if anyone can verify from the image below. and yes before trying i removed position key 1 previous remote so it was FFFF all across and ready for a new key (customer didnt have any working remotes)

Thanks for the reply, that is the same code i generated on the website minus the X i had J but i read that it doesn't matter as i don't even have to enter it or the computer doesn't save it.

from what ISTA tells me, i need to get the 3-8 numbers from top barcode for BASIC code in my case being 402EF0 then ista ask for radom code saying it would be 9-14 on top barcode which is 402EEF, which i entered, now for the 16 digit encryption code it says remove the last 2 digits from the top bar code, and use the 15 and 16th digits and ADD to the bottom barcode MINUS the last 2 digits (including the *), making it FFFFFFFFFBFD10F, which is what i got and used insta to add to the vehicle, i went back and read the vehicle entry for key i programed and vehicle shows i entered the codes (assuming these are correct).

so if anyone can confirm i entered the correct codes, i can only assume 1. key chip bad (brand new but only have this 1 key), 2. something is wrong with the vehicles antenna.

code2 : FFFFFFFFC468E3_ (last digit missing)

Can anyone help to find last digit please ?
I tested 0 and F not accepted ...

Hi Paul,

thank you for your help.
Normally those with space are 0, but i tested with t300 and didn't accept.
I will test again and give result soon because customer left.

I have tried different excel calculators and the exe software. They all work great and give me correct info. Except one remote which I have the bar code. When compared, does not match.

Lets see who can figure out. Remote was bought brand new at Land rover here in the USA. I believe Valeo change the algorithm as all my remotes that have worked were built 2014 and older.
