ok i managed to get it flashed.....one of two things that fixed it for me.... first i changed the com port to 1 instead of the default which was 13 in my case... also i didnt have all the files unzipped in the tool, i just tried to run the tool directly from win zip... think this may have been the issue, hope this helps you dougm1970.......... i do still have one issue... the display panel on the front of my f4 is completely ~~~~ed... it is showing weird symbols all the time

    hi all
I had several problems with my skybox s11HD, display black and "please reset target"
    memory error ...etc
I built a cable according to the diagram in the first post
but no result, alwais "please reset target"

I made a small change to the cable
    pin 2 ...to... pin 3
    pin 3 ...to... pin 2
    pin 4 ...to... pin 6
    pin 5 ...to... pin 5
    pin 6 ...to... pin 4
    pin 7 ...to... pin 8
    pin 8 ...to... pin 7

    pin 1 ...to... pin 6
    pin 1 ...to... pin 6

    Now work fine !!
    the material that I used:
    skybox tool.rar

sounds like u already confirmed it but make sure unzip the full folder that EromUpgrade to somewhere like desktop...

also run the batch file first in that folder, its called config...

when i did at the start i was getting the error everytime.. so once i unzipped and changed to COM1 it worked,

make sure to run it and then turn the reciever on afterwards... it does come up with that windows 7 message, you have to hit run program

fo-ok me....brendan you genius.....first post i have read that suggested to run the batch file first.....as i type its at 71% downloading the firmware to the box....it has not done this before on all the other numerous attempts.

    here's hoping.

    thanks a million fella.

right....it's back...after all i have been through this weekend with it i can't believe it

i did the batch file...upgraded to stock firmware...which was not very good...all channels on channel list in un-named folders...no section to check cams
so...i did it all again upgrading to the latest firmware oct 2012....and that seems spot on and its got the channel list pefect...i did have to update some channels.....bbc news, bbc three, bbc four, vintage tv, fox news......blind scan was no bother and all seems perfect now.

    brendan...i am very grateful...thank you.
