    Default E5510 Service tag?

My 5510 mainboard got killed by a coca cola spill.

Dell did not give me warranty (as expected)
Fleabay provided me with a secondhand mainboard.

    Operation was a succes.

The only thing is that i would like to set back my old service tag in the 'new' mainboard.

I had this verry usefull iso for service tag adaptation in the past, but don't work on the XX10 serie. the bios update with "option 3" is not working on this model.

If anyone have the right tool for this?
Even when it is not for free...
    Post here or PM me.
    Thanks.

Here i post my Dell Service Tag boot CD i used until this version. All before 5510 or xx10 could be changed with the tools on this cd.

Try SVCtag.exe see if that works you should be able to google it and download it from the tinterweb!, there is another one for workstations but u need to run the DOS command..
    asset /s /d

(/s) is the hidden switch to delete the Service Tag.

the SVCTAG.exe works upto the Dell E6400 series then anything after that it doesnt and Dell have kept that software air-tight!

    Hope this helps!

I might have found a newer version but I need to see the file dates in your zip file which is password protected. Maybe it's just me but I can't find a password in this post or anywhere on this site for a default password.

    should work fine...

Burn iso on cd, change boot options in bios, to boot from cd first.

Press Y to all questions you get.

reboot go into bios, should be cleared

I downloaded the DSTCD.rar. Rebooted my laptop with it and I got an error Msg "this utility is not supported by the system (error 2)"
