There are two type of HQ clones
    Both upgradable
    1. One use cracked softwares and need to wait the seller to provide new software to be able to update
    2. The other is using official softwares no cracked. In this case when a new software is released you can upgrade your tool
I have the second choise one that can be upgraded with officiale not cracked softwares when this one are released
I will not share any informations where you can purchase one of this HQ clones. Sorry!
    Good luck

I have a clone of VCDS made in Belarus and it is bricked after my friend tried to check his car. Originaly it was like vcds 12.12 with firmware v1.84. This cable is based on Atmega16. So can I flash it with vcds dump?

dear matty, I have a chinese VAG 10.6.4 and locked because un-mod software used. I've used the 1.92 flash, 232rl.ept and eeprom in 'VAG-COM MULTI STUFF.zip' and flashed them successfully. After I plug the cable in car, I got 'K2 short to ground' message, but the cable was functional. I've tried full auto-scan and clear error code, it worked fine.
So is the 'K2 message' a normal message when upgrade an old cable to new firmware?
    My cable pictures are below.

rocdeng ... it's not normal that you have K2 message. You are just lucky that K2 is not used so much on newer cars.

Might be GAL(ATF) that is not totally correct or one of the transistors used for K2.

Maybe I broke some parts in reparing by mistake, and fortunately normal operations could be used
Somebody also told me maybe some transistors are broken.

Check first image to identify continuity path between obd2 pins and selected area in the second picture. You will find the bad T. Be carefully when solder out/in a new one...you could damage your pcb.

In the morning I found the first image on Ross-tech's website and identified the path of K2, and found it's totally disconnected... Maybe Chinese clone save it for cost. But I'm confused why it's all right when I was using the old firmware 1.84 + 10.6.4 ZHS software, maybe the firmware and software were all modified?
