    Default Yellow/butter cake

    1. Sift together prepared flour, baking powder and
    salt.

    2. Cream the butter and sugar in a large bowl until
light and fluffy. Add egg yolks one at a time while
beating, then stir in the vanilla extract. Beat in the
flour mixture alternately with the milk, mixing just
until incorporated. Do not overbeat the mixture.

    3. Pour the batter into the greased pans.

    4. Bake at 175 degrees C for 25 to 30 minutes.
Insert and withdraw a toothpick to ensure that the
    center is cooked.

    5. Cool 15 minutes, then remove cake from pans
and allow to cool before frosting.

You can also use a sponge flour, just double sift it. The results will be good, but the cake is denser, not as fluffy.

Thanks azzahra, I hope that you and your family enjoy it.

I was looking back at the recipe and thought that it looks slightly complicated in this format. I want to reassure those without much baking experience that it is not difficult at all, the hardest part is finding the appropriate flour.

    Good luck!
