The problem is that some people on bikes think they own the road and have no road sense. I ride a bike and I have the sense to realise a car and jumping lights can and will kill me if I don't give way to both. I personally think that there should be a cycling drivers licence, you should be made to go on a short 1 day course.

Bicyclists are polluting the earth! Think about it.. the cyclist needs to eat loads to feed his muscles etc.. that in return can create allot of wind.. When your driving around.. open your window and listen to the cyclist.. you will hear him fart..
I rest my case!

Nowt wrong with fartng. More cyclists less car drivers means home quicker to be on dK and take a crap

I cycle for leisure, plenty of country roads not far from the house. I don't do lycra or racing around in herds! Too far to cycle to work and would be very difficult to transport computers and network equipment!
Many children do cycling proficiency tests whilst at primary school. I seem to remember also being tested on the relevant section of the Highway code as well as part of this. Make this compulsory, with a retest in secondary school. Many cyclists, especially in Leeds appear to have forgotten anything they might have learnt, had a cyclist ride through red lights nearly into the kids, not a bit of contriteness or apology or even to be quite honest any awareness the red light applied to them. No means by which to identify them, most other road users have to have some kind vehicle identification, though I have seen some pretty speedy motor invalid buggies (including a friend that was nearly mown over by Stephen Hawking years ago in Cambridge!) as well which I don't think also have ID.
Yes here in m/c somebody got hit by a mobility scooter. And written off
makes you think, if a person can't walk. Should they be alloud to ride a scooter.
having said that, dont moan about mobility scoters till you have ridden on through town, the peasants move out the way

Isn’t it time the UK adopted the laws needed to protect cyclists?
NO!!
Up until now I have not had much say in this. I have been in Bristol 4 days now and it is full of cyclists.
I cant speak from a drivers point of view but as for a pedestrian the majority of cyclists are proving to be a nuisance. There are plenty of cycle paths yet they find the need to cut on to busy foot paths if for instance cyclists are coming the other way on there path. Not acceptable, my path is busy do I try to cut some time by going on there's no!
Also the majority of them on the roads do not bother to show that they are indicating, run lights and make it impossible for drivers to get past them.
If the majority of these cyclists were in an accident due to a car hitting them or simply by me punching them in the face, then it would be there own fault.
I have stated 'majority' several times, for the small minority that follow the highway code and respect pedestrians I applaud them. It's a great idea it is better on the environment and cuts congestion times.
Never mind more laws in place against drivers. Lets see more laws in place controlling who can cycle, how and were.
A law in place to smack the ignorant cyclists right in the face should also be a top priority

(A law in place to smack the ignorant cyclists right in the face should also be a top priority)
within that law, the right to taser said cyclists if the're at fault and cofi~~~~e his cycle clips.......
