Hi,I need some quick advice on what jtag cable to purchase on ebay ,will the eurovox cable be ok to jtag a dm500 or do the wires differ?
I was going to make one but the parts at maplins over ?10

There are quite a few on Ebay and its very mis- leading to try and guess/ buy from the advert, only advice is to ask the seller if its suitable for your needs, then if incorrect you have him by the nuts and can send it back. Personally I would shop around other electrical stores or even google/ebay check the parts prices online, you only need 6 resistors, 6 short lengths of wire and a DB25 Pin plug. Anything over a fiver is way over the top.

Ive just joined rs online they seem pretty cheap compared to maplins ,Im having trouble finding the correct header on their site I was after a surface header that can be cliped to the pcb with out the need to solder?

I use use RS online @ times, super fast service (overnight)and I wanted a 25 pin with 90 deg ie bent pins to fit through into breadboard holes or copper PCB type board but couldn't find one anywhere so gave up and used a standard one.
One tip try and purchase quarter watt resistors, small enough to solder inside the small tubes inside the 25 pin plug.
Afraid you're goona have to get into soldering :
