It's just sunk in.
Timers=Timbers.
The truth was I bought timers from B & Q
ok.. so you was pushing a trolley of timber, and the total weight of trolley and timber was one tonne..
this gust of wind ..sorry CYCLONE lifted ONE TONNE of timber and trolley INTO THE AIR damaged several cars?
So we can assume that people were knocked over too?
And any high sided vehicles were knocked over?
Or was this super strong gust of wind centralised in the exact spot you were standing?

I am not sure you realise that what you heard is not what i meant !
once every few months or so a rare occurrence happens where i think to myself 'this is my favourite thread on dk, ever'
but then a little gem like this one comes and totally trumps all other running contenders
As already stated by flyingpig as you were not in your car nor were the goods loaded on your vehicle, your car insurance has nothing to with the situation.
You could claim on "public liability" insurance which you should have if you have Household Insurance. Most Household Contents insurance policies include "public liability" clauses which cover you for accidents such as this outside the home.
To give you some idea of the type of things covered by this "public liability" if you kicked a stone and it bounced up and smashed a shop window you are covered , if you have a Gazebo up (it could be in your garden or in a caravan park or just about anywhere) and the wind blows it down and the poles damage a neighbours shed or whatever you are covered.
It is just a point the very few people are told about, probably to stop too many claims.
agree same with your bicycle, you hit something or someone pay up and ~~~~ off.
My cross questioing would be this:-
1) Did you have your hands on the trolley at the time?
2) Did you have any advanced warning of this event - was you and other costomers warned?
For example sake you was in store, and your looking at floorboards
when all of a sudden staff and costomers come running the other way
you walk round the corner get burned by a fire, you didn't know
Had the fire alarm gone off, you walk round the corner, get burnt, tough shit your fault.
3) As there is video evidence and you have seen it, WAS YOU TOUCHING
THE TROLLEY AT THE TIME?
If not, you can play on the fact there was "no emergency brake" you could have used to prevent it
4) Is there a sign up saying "cars parked at owners risk" - if so the other
peoples have just waived their rights?
5) OK the trolley has warning labels, saying "no riding", "load even"
etc does it say "DO NOT USE IN A STORM"?
Play health and safty at their own game.
OFF TOPIC:-
*BRILLIANT STORY* - TRUE - Bus driver got pedals mixed up hit gas
not break killed 12 people or so.
Bus took away for testing, apart from the blood and guts on it, found to be
in perfect working order. BUT the inspector was a PROPER JOBSWORTH.
1 rear indicator bulb has 23 turns on the filimaent the other side has 22 turns on the filiment, bus co got fined for it (and what ever else was 'wrong' with the bus

jaysus Meathead, you should be a solicitor........
so nexk time insure full compresive
Meat if I was holding trolley I would have been dead now, this cyclone would have lifted me and the trolley when force of impact would have crashed me.
In any circumstances the owner of the trolley was B & Q and they should have provided an elephant holding the trolley for securities reason.
