Right.... to add to the confusion even more, MY BOX WORKS AT MY MATES!!

Why would my box work at my mates house, but not at my own? Yet his box works at my house??

    :-(

    Any ideas?

I think its something to do with my box, my box is hardwired into the router via an ethernet cable.

My router doesnt recognise that the box is connected (there is no green light on the router).

Soon as i try other boxes, the green light appears straight away and works.

What could be the possible causes for this? The box?

    Please help anyone, thanks

Looks like could be a fault with the lan adapter on the box itself.

Before this you said "MY BOX WORKS AT MY MATES" so the only difference is:

    1, Your Internet Connection/Router

2, Your etnernet cable (Assuming adifferent ethernet at your mates)

    Process of elimination.

When you have connected the box and it is on a prem channel, try rebooting your router, then you box. Dont have any other devices connected to your router when trying.

    @the op
    Happened to me.

I removed my WPA and set my router to no password. It helped a lot, with some channels scrambled and some not, but then I ended up just removing the current and changing to new C-lines and its fine.

It appears some clines work fine on DM500x etc, but not stable on openbox.

Dont know why, but I had this confirmed from an Oscam guy.

Its the CCcam emus not interacting as they were intended.

Although it worked when you changed location.....

Try the router with no network password first or a new CAT lead to boot.

    Hi.

I got my openbox X10 set last year on October 13 with subscription 6months. I have renewed the subcription for another 1 year. However, after 5months+ my openbox continuously scrambled. Thought at first my internet connection got problem. But now, internet connection resolved but channel still scrambled. Youtube also unable to load. The funny part is when I played my openbox set at my friends place, tv channel was clear. I even tried my friends' openbox set, same model X10 from the same service provider at my place but still no channel. My friends sets works normal at my friends' place.
So, my initial conclusion is my openbox set has blocked data from my particular modem at my home. I have tried change the cable but no use.
Anybody can confirm the real problem? How to resolve? Even my service provider also clueless.
    Thanks in advance

try purging ip address. set a static ip address outside range(192.168.100.xxx) once you've established static ip has been achived switch dhcp on to acquire an allocated ip from router.
