Default iPod Gen 5 no longer connects

I installed the latest iTunes on my Win 7 64 bit computer. Plug in my iPod Touch, everything is fine. Plug in my iPod 5, not even seen by Windows or iTunes - although it charges via the computer USB interface lead.

Problem is if I plug the iPod 5 into my car, or any other interface it works perfectly well, plays music through my dash in the case of the car, and plays music over my FM transmitter.

So it must come down to iTunes/drivers anyone got any ideas?

Nah I have a hardware firewall, would never use the Windows one, even tried it in another computer (though I have to say same version of iTunes) and still doesn't show up.
