I agree, the bootards manually is a safer option.

have you set up PC editor correct, in tools menu .

you need to set correct IP address for box
    username and password.

then have a usb printer cable , one end in back of bow, other end in PC usb slot.

switch box off at the back
press and hold in the on/off button at the front, then switch on at the back, hold the button in until you see "USB UPGRADE "

    ----------------------------------------------

another way is to format a usb stick

put the multiboot image onto it.

switch box off at the back
press and hold in the on/off button at the front, then switch on at the back, hold the button in until you see "USB UPGRADE "

Noob alert, but is there any way to check that multiboot is active since pressing keys on the remote doesn't seem to make something happen for me.

I've flashed with the lastest SIF/dgs image, and then downloaded the multi-boot image, "usb_update" seem to have worked, I got "done" in the display

    Am I missing something?

This was on a cuberevo 250hd

After doing this and before FTP the E2.img to the USB, have we got to do some thing to find the /mnt/usb/usb0...
That means how to to mount the USB stick with the Telnet?
A Howto (Step by Step) will be helfull for all people.
    Best regards.

format the USB stick to ext2 using Paragon partition manager. i use 2 partitions on my sticks.

if you search the forum for it , you will be able to download it from here.

then put the stick into the box and switch it on, when it boots up it will find it .

then if you ftp to mnt/usb/usb0 there should be a lost and found folder, then you will know its ready to ftp the image in mnt/usb/usb0 folder.

i find the easiest way is to use PC editor. make sure you do a ping test and PCeditor can comunicate with the box..

get yourself a usb printer cable, printer end goes in the back of the box and usb end into the PC..

switch the box off at the back and press and keep the front on/off button in until you see the words " USB UPGRADE " in the LCD.

now tell pceditor you want to flash the box, and point it to your desired image. then ok.

it will go through 3 fazes , Erasing, uploading, then flashing.. it will say done when its finished, then switch off the box and back on to boot up..

put it onto a usb stick ( make sure its a nice clean formated one ), then do same procedure as if you were flashing a new image to the box.
