    Default SEAT IBIZA 6L0920830K

    Hi

attached picture show the damage in a SEAT IBIZA with TRW dash. 6L0920830K

someone replaced the 4 existing SMD resistances 120 Ohm
and put some 3x 10 Ohm in serial, but there is some short circuit in the dash because the dash takes too much current.

Does anyone has this before and some solution ?

Is BCP56 part of a voltage regulator? It allows collector current up to 1.2A. Probably someone found that voltage drop on 120Ohm was to high and tried to reduce it by smaller resistors. Seems to be that this had been the wrong fix, he should had searched for too high current on the board.

May be it's the panel light leds, in my case I found that the main chip was first giving 5v supply, but after minute or two it was jumping to 12v output on the voltage regulating transistor (big one with heatsink) . Tryed to fix it with external 5v regulator. Fixed it for a month, but now it returned again. Also, the 120 ohm resistors was totally burned. Reverse engineering showed that it may be related to 2 things. First one is the led lights and the second one is the main chip (D0820) wich controlls the voltage regulator...

From what I found, this is led driver part (controlls the current of the led lights)
