Remove dashboard, immobox is located on front side of heater core. Depending on how you want to do it you can either pull the whole reinforcing bar back(approx 1.5-2 inches is enough space) and remove the box from it's little home on the heater core or break the top plastic a little and remove the box from the top. Toyota manual says to drain and re-gas air con system but not necessary in my opinion. My phone is on the charge, I'll dig a photo out later.

Tango is able to do significant amount of immo boxes from Toyota without removing these. VVDI tried to introduce the same method but ended as "only for China market".
Hi all,
can someone confirm where exactly the immo box is on a 2016 remote key with H chip ?
thanks
On the front side of the heater core is the EU/AU specification(And has been since about 2009[some models early as 2003]). Dash pad must be removed to access it.
However many tools may gain access by OBD with fuse relay functions and save you removing the dash pad. I've found xhorse and avdi poor on this particular model, but had success with smart pro.
Remember when assessing the fuses to be used the vbat/ecu fuse must turn the immo light OFF(not flashing) with the ignition OFF, and the IGN/IG2 fuse must turn the immo light OFF(not flashing) with the ignition ON. If you have issues after confirming the correct function of the fuses you've removed your tool does not have the appropriate security bytes to access this immobox, or in the case of 70 series or 200 series Land Cruiser it just won't work in the car. Remove the immo box and work on the bench with Barracuda or similar.
