    Please be careful not to install a DM500 image on a DM500+

    You have to unrar the image, just get winrar at link below and install it, then double click on the rar file and it will open with winrar and press extract at the top and it will extract to wherever you tell it to.

    you need to post 5 positive posts mate, pick a subject your comfortable with and post in that forum. once you got your 5 decent posts you will be ok, you might have to wait 15 mins after your 5th posts for the server to update itself.

    Hi, bit of a newbie, ive had a dreambox for a few months but i got mine pre-flashed from some1 but now it seems to need reflashing, can you tell me how often this happens or does that depends totally on the subscriber your using?

    <--E-noid added 8 Minutes and 23 Seconds later...-->

    Sorry not sure where to post this question........ :S which dreambox is rated best? there seems to be quite a few variations on the net and ive heard stories of bootlegs ones floating around that are rubbish? I have the 500c but would like one with a hdd.....or am i better off just networking the current box to my home next work and using my pc as a storage device? any help would be appreciated

    Ok no doubt loads of people have asked this before, how do you tell the difference between a null modem cable and a serial cable ? i tried a serial cable i had which i think was crossover and it didnt work.

    Hi when using dreamup there acouple of things you need to follow i have read through the guid on how to flash the box which is detailed with very good instructions.
    the answer to the question is when using dreamup u can start by using com1 and untick use network.

    <--jkateete added 31 Minutes and 55 Seconds later...-->

    The problem is not dreamup not working i'd the same problem before and it took me some time to flash my box. the problem is the type of computer your using the com ports are disabled which was the case with my pc and i didnt have enough knowledge on how to enable them, i tried several pcs but they all didnt help me as the com ports were all disabled untill when i used my old pc with com ports not disabled. Most the of the pcs these days come disabled you need to find some one with good pc skill to enable your com ports and use a latest version of dreamup.
    Every thing should work out properly once you follow the instructions thanks.
