Ok, till know I've tried the following:

The system with no audio input, which means amp is on, speakers on but no audio connected, equals to no noise!

If I connect the tablet, or my phone using the 3.5mm jack into the amp, everything works beautiful...

If I connect the player (Android box...) the noise appears, and does not go away, even if I:
    -disconnect the network
    -connect the ground to it
    -use analogue audio output
-connect ground and then connect ground lifter

I've also tried to remove the ground from the amp, makes no difference.

I've spent too much time trying everything I could think of... to the point were I was very close to punch the little black box...

If was data noise, I believe you mean network data, should that not stop when the cable is disconnected?

    No hard drive...
Box has been opened indeed, at the moment there is only the pcb in there...
If is the box that is faulty, I will might be better to buy the tablet for 50quid, is only about 10 pounds more than the box, and will definitely will give me more control, maintenance wise... as I will have a screen to work with...

Today when doing some work on the loft realised how hot it gets up there. .. the relay board which normally runs at about 26 degrees was at 39!...
And the cabinet was opened and the amp was off!
With this in mind, I started to implement a cooling system. ..
Which basically will have a controller and a fan.
The controller will turn the fan on or off depending on the pre-selected temperature.
Hopefully that will keep the system running cooler. ..
    Photos will follow. ..

    Back with updates...

Will start with the cooling system, as is finished, the only thing left is to drill an outlet on the cabinet door, so the air can circulate.

The fan and the control module (the small PCB). This fan was removed from an old microwave, is 220v and spins quite fast!
    20130629_234714.jpg

The temperature sensor has been placed on the other side of the cabinet, and sort of away from the air flow...
    20130629_234727.jpg

Have had to add more cables to the bunch that was already in place, one for the control panel that will be in the landing, for the power and maybe the network, as I am not sure yet which tablet I am going to use... I still testing, as the tablet I am using to test the system is quite bad at wireless... I am going to change the internal antenna, see is that improves, other wise will have to get a tablet with a Ethernet port.

Also some more cables for something else I am taking the chance to do... will post some photos as I go along.

Right, finally all done upstairs... (Loft although, still a mess... )

Had to drill on this side of the chimney...
    20130701_170917.jpg

On this side then, and run the cable through... was not easy, and could not do it without the endoscope...
    20130701_170903.jpg

The panel fixed on the wall.
    20130701_222904.jpg

One of the players I am using... I still testing a few... ultimately will buy the one I find that works better.
    20130701_224633.jpg

The app that controls the PLC... This one is only available as paid version...
    20130701_224715.jpg

The next step is the one on the ground floor...

And mark the wires... some I had to followed them... I forgot it already...
    20130702_194950.jpg

Add the Air vent for the air circulation...

    An overview of the layout...

Brilliant thread and very interesting reading, you mention a constant hum when playing audio files through your setup, i have encountered this on a couple of my Hoem audio installs and it was head fryin, basically on 1 system the client ended up frying an amplifier during commisioning at my cost
The system that you have installed is similar to what i install although i would use a PC as my server & Teac AG980 multizone amplifier as audio distribution, PC is connected via network to tablet running Itunes or android app and sound controlled via tablet or phone.
I used a ground loop isolator to combat the 50hz frequencey been distrubted through audio, http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Monacor-FGA30-Stereo-Line-Transformer-Ground-Loop-Isolator- thi/400389906421?pt=UK_MusicalInstruments_Parts_Acceso ries&hash=item5d39191ff5 this helped in hum which i was expericing, more info can be found here http://www.blueguitar.org/new/articl...round_loop.pdf
    Hope this helps

Thank you for comments... and for the complement!

I've trace down the noise, and definitely is from the player (renderer) I am using...
Probably a design fault on the pcb/electronics... 100% sure that the player is picking up the noise from the data transfer on the network.
I have tried my phone, missus phone, and 3 different tablets, and none of them make the noise...
A friend lent me 4 or 5 different ground loop filters, and none of them made a difference... 2 actually made it worse...
So it must be the player, what else?
Ultimately I will buy another one, as the tablet idea is now on hold, the app I am using (private dancer), disappears from the network, when the tablet is connected through the Ethernet cable.

I've been in touch with the developer, which was very supportive indeed, and he said that the app was developed for wireless connections, he said he will change the app code to be more compatible with Ethernet connections...

A query, on you configuration, using the Teac AG980, how do you remotely enable or disable zones?

The way i configue remote disable is through the Teac AG980 remote via a magic eye, tied in with a TV link repeater, usually i would have all my ancillary equipment in 1 room Sky box, DVD, Amplifier HDMi distribution etc etc, i use the TV link repeater IR placed on front of Teac AG980 to extend IR, this is controlled via any magic eye source in any room in a client's home, the beauty about Teac is you can have multi zone audio going to 2 seperate locations by switching Zone A/B/C/D on or off, it's very similar to system that you have but a lot less complicated, usually i just use a desktop as my server/media center GLOBAL INVACOM TV LINK PLUS ADAPTER + PSU + MAGIC EYE | eBay
The only downside to my config is i can only play 1 audio input and 1 radio through the 2 zones on Channel A/B or C/D or play either source through all 8 speakers
