Default Help with ISN change BMW CAS3 Autel IM608

    Hi All
I'm trying to swap from an MSD80 to an MSD81 on a 2007 BMW 335i. I'm using an Autel IM608. I was able to read the full 16bit ISN from from old DME and new DME. Removed cas from vehicle and read eeprom file. When i try to do an ECU renew operation(via autel) on the cas3 0L01Y(non crypto), the Autel only gives me an option for short ISN, not Long ISN. MSD80 and MSD81 don't have a short ISN.
I loaded the eeprom file into autel's hexeditor and found the long ISN at address BBx. I manually changed to the NEW isn for MSD81 and calculated/updated the checksum as well. Wrote eeprom back to cas, but when i try tp start the car, I get error 2F49 EWS Manipulation code. If i read the DME ISN from CAS via OBD, it still shows the old MSD80 ISN in the CAS, even though I changed it manually in the eeprom file. i went back and verified my changes are saved in the eeprom.
Can someone show me if I missed something? Is there something else I need to change in the cas eeprom file? I've attached my orignal cas file and the file i manually modified for MSD81.

    original MSD80 ISN B2A0DEFD49E5F6B494CD2E9EA5994C6A
    New MSD81 ISN 5C97D35F7A18E943579A0D503826C0AB

    Thanks

Hi, thank you very much for your help. Is it possible modify the CAS eeprom with the new isn instead? I don't think my autel im608 can modify the eeprom on the msd81

Anyone that can help to modify my cas eeprom with the updated ISN? Or show me what i'm doing wrong?
I tried flashing the updated dme eeprom as Kiszka provided, but my tool doesn't have the ability to flash the dme eeprom. Thanks

Thank you for posting. I don't think that cas file is the one that I posted. The VIN is different and the hex code is very different

Hi Kiszka, are you able to modify my cas eeprom file with the new ISN? It looks like the file you posted does not match my cas file. Thank You
