Mines still running on Carling...... And that has started switching off - it's worse when watching footie on HD channels. I also lose the sound a lot, thinking of replacing the box or updating the firmware.

Let me know how u get on....... This maybe something I need to do.
I 'm not sure exactly what you mean but think its something like a dry joint on the circuit board - is that right?.

Well replacement caps came today, and box is now fixed, so far everything seems to be running OK. Will report back if box reboots.

I replaced C21 cap as it appeared to have swelled at the top, plugged the box back in....... Still rebooting the box and losing the sound!

I have noticed that this happens when watching HD or premium channel- maybe I need to update the firmware, last updated 2010.

There's Isn't really any new firmware out there for the Combo apart from Bytemasters I was bored one day conversion to a spiderbox. So updating the firmware can't be done.
