i think some tools (FVDI) are better than others also there are no instructions to tell you to wait 40mins (at least mine had none) there was also no caution about johnson controls bsi when connecting, and no reply when i mailed them, so i still think its wise to be careful when reading this particular BSI.

i haven't used mine since.

The time on parser was actually 3 hours 20 minutes IIRC but only took 40 mins in total ...also id think all software will be same ..
Be a tad silly to think the Chinese would omit any part of the software just for a certain sellers wares to be honest ... i think its just been pilot error ! especially if you missed parser saying this it might be far more likely
Lastly i have use mine many times since for key BSI and pin reading without problems ( touch wood ) 207 307 etc even replaced used module
Might be a good idea to not use YOUR unit busaman as i think the Chinese maybe sent you a right DUD as mine seems to be quite stable fortunately...
So just bought vag unit to try it and it seems stable for what i have tried so far only fault is minor with connection problems on some stuff but seem to work well after connection to other modules first IE read dash ecu etc then connect for read may help ..works for me

If it takes 40 mins to read via obd wouldnt it be just easyer to remove bsi and read eeprom for PIN then you know its not going to go wrong , i know it might be a bit of a pig to get unit out but at least you know its not going to go wrong .....
Thanks kev

Sad story from my good friend electronic expert.
Kill bsi JC on peugeot 308 with fvdi.
Car battery is being connected to charger, but in half writing program blocked and after long time wait, result is dead bsi .
My advice is to remove bsi and read pin manualy with some programmer and not trust to seller that only have interest to sell this tool.
