as you already noted OpenVix put the brakes on the loophole to the plugin server downloads your only option is to find the plugin as a .ipk installer or change your image

If you still want to use an unsupported Openvix, here's a cheeky little cheat you can do if your having trouble google searching for the .ipk file, all your doing is pinching the latest .ipk file off the openatv feeds, good for future updates

    1. Download a base Openatv image from the zgemma.tv website
    2. Install and complete the config screen
    3. Telnet to your Zgemma using your PC by opening a command prompt(admin) and
    i. Type 'Telnet' and the IP address of your zgemma and press return
ii. Type 'root' and press return
iii. Type 'opkg download enigma2-plugin-extensions-permanentvfdclock' this will download the latest .ipk file to your Zgemma
iv. FTP to /var/volatile/cache/opkg and drg the .ipk file to your PC's desktop
    4. Flash Openvix and FTP the .ipk file to your Zgemma and install via the local extensions menu
