Default I'm a newbie, just trying to clarify something...

Hi so I'm here to clarify what I know as I am a newbie with not much of a clue.
I have a Skybox F5S. Most of my HD channels recently have stopped working so I updated my channel list with DJ AJ's list.

Does DJ AJ change the frequency of channels himself or do I have to do that myself? DJ AJ has removed a lot of HD channels but I'm guessing that's because we don't know the frequency they work on and we will find out eventually and he will update them? And is it dangerous for me to update my firmware from the skybox.cc website? As I wanted the 7 day epg so I did the update.

Also after a year of having my sky box I will have to pay someone a renewal fee of about ?60. Is this what everyone pays or am I getting scammed?

Sorry for all the questions I would just like some clarification.

    Thanks

Most of Hd channels have stopped working on ALL boxes not just yours. The latest AJ updates have the ones that are working. You need to update your box using Ajs list if and when he updates them. Its all done in his updates.. As far as updating your software and firmware, you can do that no problem, providing you backdate your existing data on a USB stick. as far as your last point is concerned we are not allowed to talk about those things on here.

The system that you are using is coming to an end, $ky at present are blocking the HD channels and the remaining pay HD channels will be off by the end of the month, SD channels life expectancy could be anything 6 weeks, 6 months or 6 years, nobody knows. So be careful on spending any money on this type of system.

Hi Martin how do you know they are all going to be blocked? And do we know how Sky are managing to do this?

I personally had a sub conscious idea this would happen it's ridiculous what we pay vs what Sky members pay. Guess it was just a matter of when, not how or why.

Don't get me wrong but you should read this before post. The HD channels will be ending soon.

Just from reading threads on this forum and other Sat forums, 2 threads below for you to read. All $ky are doing is changing the encryption/pairing system to a more efficient and secure one.
