no such box as sv 3 hd combo, only the starview combo sat/cable. hmm think one of the internal caps is buggered leaking or bulging as that causes box to reboot.

    READ BEFORE CONTINUING

Alternative Firmware Starview Combo HD LAN

My Modified mashup firmware...... working on Starview Combo HD LAN Only
Copy these files to your PC.. Do not try to run the flash loader (HD 300E) software from the USB stick.

THERE WILL BE ABSOLUTELY NO CABLE FUNCTIONALITY AFTER PUTTING ON THE ALTERNATIVE firmware.

Use it at your own risk.

Can you kill the box? YES IS THE ANSWER if you try doing the firmware change different from
    described below.

    Tools needed
PC with a real serial port. (USB to Serial adaptor wont work and you will likely KILL your box)
    Serial Cable
Starview Combo HD LAN box Only ..............
That means only Starview Combo HD LAN. Not any other starview.

    Copy files to your desktop
Connect serial cable to pc and starview box.
MAKE SURE YOU TURN ON THE STARVIEW HIDDEN NETWORK MENU
    Next
Turn off starview by switch at the rear.

    Run Flash tool (HD 300E).
    Select Com1
    Now click Com Connect
    Click on choose file.
Click the .bin file you want to try from the included folders.(example make me a spider sat.bin)

Turn on starview again, the flash loader should now take over the box.
After approx 30 seconds you should see the progress bar moving.
DO NOT DO ANYTHING ELSE UNTIL THE BOX REBOOTS ITSELF. (This will take about 10 minutes)
IF YOU STOP THE FLASH LOADER MID WAY THROUGH UPDATING YOU WILL KILL THE BOX.
After the box reboots run the appropriate patch from your usb stick. The patches needed are
in the same folder as the firmware you chose.
Download the channel lists available in downloads and also put on your box if you wish via usb.
These will only work with "Starview or Spider not with mvision"

If you have used the Spider & Mvision firmware.
Do not turn on Neuovox stream
Do not turn on Service plus
Do not do ever do Net SW Download.

Do any of the above you will have problems..........

To make your set top box a Starview again just use the Starview files in
the correct order in the Starview folder.

    ByteMaster..

got that elsewhere and that file is in downloads above.

I have sv hd combo 1 with carling, 1 with " bored one day" both still working. Lost HDs like everyone. Another box similar problem and will not allow itself to be updated, caps look ok so have accepted it's had its day.
