Back after 4 years! I see not so many American vehicles still. I'll be here just searching ☺. I did buy a j2534 box (snap on pass thru pro 3 or cardaq2). Can't find shit on the internet for using this thing without the j2534 tool box and the manufacture websites...

I have so many cars to play with at my disposal. If anyone is interested with American vehicles hit me up. For instance working on a 06 Chevy impala. Bcm over heating replaced with one out of a ccaddillac dts. Car runs now but bcm needs reprogrammed. I hate I have to pay the dealer to fix a car even when I have the tools at my shop

we all suffer the same thing we all have to pay at some point maybe learn how to clone so you don't always need that j2534 snap on thing from what im reading I think lots of reading and trial and error might help!!!

So, please fill us in on what specifically needs to be cloned in a GM BCM please.

You can reflash it with the correct firmware with a J2534 and TIS2000 (for up to 2007 vehicles)
Please DO NOT PM me asking for help.

Post in the forum, that is what it is here for.

Sarcasm right? I'm lucky I can turn on headlights on this wonderfully car. So is the j box only for tis and manufacturers software services?

yes I was going to mention tis2000 for the job that is what I would have used and if not I would read eprom and transfer data. I don't see to much of the older cars anymore that's why I said clone it

yes j box is mostly for manufacturers software. my point to my post was if you want to bypass the dealer or having to pay for a subscription there can be other ways to program the part on the bench some work some don't I have lots of cars at my disposal as well so when I have time I do some experiments.
