Perhaps Citroen and Peugeot will be first to flood the UK market with driverless cars. That way French farmers who protest could just get Citroen.Peugeot to switch off the cars in the UK and save themselves a job of having to blockade Calais to make the M20 a car/truck park

You put in your claim to your car maker for writing sh*t software. If it's anything like VW's they'll know when it's slowing so you end up going along at 5mph on the M62 all day. Mind you it won't snow much with VW's environmentally friendly cars

Yes, cars driven by men would either end up parked in the bars of most pubs, in a brothel or in a gutter. Cars driven by women would end up nowhere very useful
As for Elmers car it would end up being parked at eh bottom of a glass.

Google has criticised the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) in California for insisting driverless cars must have a fully licensed driver behind the wheel.
On Wednesday, the DMV published draft regulations which outline how the technology could be used on the roads.
The regulations say truly driverless cars would be "initially excluded" from operation.
Google's director of self-driving cars, Chris Urmson, said the move was "perplexing".
"This maintains the same old status quo and falls short on allowing this technology to reach its full potential, while excluding those who need to get around but cannot drive," he wrote in his blog.
"We've heard countless stories from people who need a fully self-driving car today. People with health conditions ranging from vision problems to multiple sclerosis to autism to epilepsy who are frustrated with their dependence on others for even simple errands."
    Safety record

Google argues that driverless cars are much safer than manually driven cars, because they eliminate the human error that causes a majority of collisions.

Google staff have never used any of their software at all then! At least there's one place with some sense anyway, for now at least. That will only last as long as Google's money isn't in the pockets of those that make the decisions.

Driver less car? You mean the now the Muslim terrorists will have more room for the explosives to fit without a driver. To make the cars work they use sensors to read the lines on the road. They drove one from the West coast of the US to the East Coast. The people in the car said quite a few times they needed to take over cause the car lost it way. Most other drivers were mad the car drove the speed limit. I think it also was involved in a minor accident. Didn't they already have driver less taxis called Johnny cabs?

That was a B&Q car park, involved a car, a shopping trolley and so it's claimed, a tornado *shrug*
