    Default Technomate TM-5402 HD M3 MK3 Super+ CI

hi guys. Im looking for a replacement to upgrade my f5s and came across this box. The technical bits mash my head so I was wondering if you good people with more knowledge than me could dumb this down for me and tell me if its any good. Im looking to be able to watch 1 channel and record another with a good epg.

Thanks in advance for your comments

Well the only way you're going to be able to watch one channel and record another using this receiver is if both channels share the same frequency, the TM 5402 only has a single tuner. Besides that it's a decent reciever, although some same that the picture quality is better on the M1 & M2 version which are no longer available.

Thanks for that. Somewhere in the write up it says you can re off 2 and watch another but like you say there is only - tuner. That's what confused me.

It can be a little misleading i will try and explain with the following attachment:

All those Channels are on the same transponder database so the TM marketing blurb says something like Record 2 channels while watching a 3rd on the same transponder, So on that transponder you could record say Tru TV and More Movies while you watch Travel channel exciting i know but thats the general idea one transponder holds an X amount of channels so you can record 2 and watch a 3rd from any single transponder.

Dont get me wrong the TM5402HD is a great box i have one myself but for the price of a single tuner satellite receiver these days you could pick up say a Vu Zero Linux Enigma2 receiver which will do far more than the technomate can do in a month of sundays, there are also TM E2 receivers the same as the Zero same price as well.

I think the 5402M3 is around ?119 and the Vu Zero is ?99 and the TM-Nano SE which is identical is also ?99, Also look at other brands at a similar price. Coming from an F5 the next logical step would be a Linux E2 receiver ideally

We cannot talk about the Cline's or any type of discusssion due to forum rules all i will say is you must have the phantom patch installed to get into the Biss key and Softcam menu:

Type 8280 into remote control and this will give you the Biss key Menu

Type 8281 into the remote control and this will give you the Softcam menu which is the part we do not discuss.

Both of the above will only work with the phantom patch installed
