Most Acura and honda all locks on car have code stamp last 4.
most lexus and toyota non transponder passager side door lock. Transponder base system have no lock on passager side, so they move it to the driver side.
Saab the trunck lock has the code stamp. Non h.s.
vw beetle driver door lock is stamp

    Useful thread this...
Suzuki mostly on door lock too - Drivers side (in UK, passenger if LHD, until like Ray-Ray says only one door lock - then it's on that) always usually stamped near top/side of barrel.

Classic VW beetle, bus, karmann ghia etc - code on all locks & ignitions. Door locks/handles sometimes need the end cam removing to see code underneath.

Did a 1997 Celica the other day there, had to loosen 2 bolts inside to release the handle, push outward to reveal barrel, TOY43 code stamped near the top.
As a rule of thumb, any older Japanese vehicles I get - always worth removing door lock to check for code.

I'll test what I find in this thread, and post pics of any I find...

Perhaps we all mention instances where you will need a key to turn lock first?

    On passenger door lock cylinder.
One trick I use is to use flexible scope to view door lock cylinder codes, whenever possible. I use this trick on older Mitsubishi eclipse and Chrysler equivalent Sebring(MIT1), also older Ford Probe/ Mazda 626. Sometimes it is easier if you have hand crank windows to lower before putting in scope. Small diameter scopes available for 75-125 USD china suppliers. You don't have to pull panel, so it saves time.
