Post Luca Sky UK Channel List

Luca Sky UK Channel List (CWAITE/sattv5 + AJ)

    Disclaimer:
Made for and tested with Skybox F3S only, I take no responsibility if anything goes wrong by using this channel list with your receiver. It may also work with other Skybox, Openbox, and Libertview models but make sure first. Created in MediaBox Editor Studio.

Took me a full week to find out how to create a channel list, create it, and finally get it to my liking. Tried dozens of tools, edited each channel one by one, and learnt a lot. Totally exhausted and I dunno if I will be updating this list. I hope AJ or CWAITE can take adopt this list and update it. Definitely fits (and completes) AJ's channel list more (yet keeps the Sky numbering for CWAITE).

    Features:
    • Based on CWAITE's channel list of 14-3-2015
    • Uses Sky UK numbering where possible (http://tv.sky.com/tv-guide)
    • Uses the AJ OCD/group-ordering system (takes priority over Sky numbering system)
    • HD priority over SD
    • No Adult channels nor Adult favourite group (neither in any favourite group nor outside them)
    • 32 Favourite groups, 24 used
    • English priority over Irish, Scottish, and Welsh
    • 1577 total channels (TV, Radio, Data, etc.)
    • 59 satellites (Astra 1C 2.0E - Intelsat 9 58.0W)
    • 93 transponders (28.2E only)

    Favourite Groups List:
    1. ENTERTAINMENT
    2. LIFESTYLE CULTURE
    3. MOVIES
    4. SPORTS
    5. NEWS
    6. DOCUMENTARIES
    7. KIDS
    8. MUSIC
    9. RADIO
    10. SHOPPING
    11. RELIGION
    12. INTERNATIONAL
    13. GAMING n DATING
    14. SPECIALIST
    15. SD
    16. HD
    17. Regional
    18. Sky Box Office
    19. Red Button
    20. Sky Anytime
    21. Irish
    22. Scottish
    23. Welsh
    24. Test

    Usage and notes:
    • Favourite groups 25-32 ('Fav group 25', Fav group 26', ...) have not been renamed and only become visible when something is added to the group.
    • To get to Radio channels you have to press [Sat List] first before pressing [TV/Radio]. Same thing for when you want to get back TV channels.
    • You cannot see the 'Radio' favourite group in TV view and you cannot not see the TV favourite groups in Radio view.
    • Getting to a channel by entering the Sky channel number will not work if you are on a channel having entered it from the Favourites menu (Favourites view). You need to be in the 'Satellite view' (press [Sat List] button) to be able to enter the Sky channel number (this doesn't work for all channels as Group Ordering (OCD like AJ) system has priority).
    • SD favourite group holds the Standard Definition channel alternative only for the HD channels that have a SD alternative. The group does not hold every SD channel for the whole satellite.
    • 'BoxNation HD' only becomes recognisable as a valid TV channel that doesn't give an error when a program is broadcasting (it isn't a 24hour channel). Check EPG listings (Sky TV EPG link above) for when it will next broadcast. The standard definition 'BoxNation' is a 24hour channel and works with no problem.
    • The channel name character limit is 16 and the favourite group name character limit is 15. E.g. 'Sky Box Office 10' is now 'Sky BoxOffice 10', 'BBC Red Button HD' is now 'BBC Red ButtonHD', etc.
    • The Favourite groups have been hard named i.e. via Skybox, meaning favourite group names won't reset to CWAITE's and so resetting to factory default is not needed. This works if you delete all your channels first and select to not keep settings when installing this channel list. Always make a backup dump of your current channel list (TP_PROG.dbs) first.
    • When watching a channel selected from a Favourite group, pressing [PG+] will switch to a channel in the group that comes after the Favourite group you are currently in and pressing [PG-] will switch to a channel in the group that comes before the Favourite group you are currently in. For example, if you are watching 'BBC One HD' which is in the ENTERTAINMENT group, pressing [PG+] will switch to 'Sky Arts 1 HD' which is in the LIFESTYLE CULTURE group and if you are watching 'Sky Arts 1 HD', pressing [PG-] will switch to 'BBC One HD'.
    • To switch channels within the same Favourite group, e.g. BBC One HD > BBC Two HD > BBC Three etc., use the [UP]/[DOWN] buttons. Browsing past the end of the list will take you back to the beginning of the list and vice-versa past the beginning of the list will take you to the end of the list.
    • Pressing the [LEFT]/[RIGHT] buttons whilst watching a channel will change the volume. The [VOL+]/[VOL-] buttons will also still control the volume.
    • You can jump a page up or down by pressing the [PG+]/[PG-] buttons whilst in the Favourite group menus to get to the next/previous page of Favourite groups, e.g. jump from ENTERTAINMENT (make sure it is highlighted) to Scottish by pressing [PG-] twice, or you can jump to the next/previous page of channels within a Favourite group with the [PG+]/[PG-] buttons (make sure a channel is highlighted first).

Post Luca List 25-3-15 (No Adult)

    • 1574 channels
    • 59 satellites
    • 93 transponders

    New:

    • Made a SD over HD priority version of the channel list for those of you that can't view HD channels for whatever reason.

    Updated:

    • 'TV 99' added back to INTERNATIONAL favourite group.
    • 'Alex Casino' and 'Sky Poker' from GAMING n DATING favourite group.
    • 'Sky Insider' removed from SPECIALIST favourite group.

    Usage and notes:

    • The changes above were made to reflect the changes in the Sky UK EPG listing (http://tv.sky.com/tv-guide), so whatever changes are seen there are seen in the channel list.
    • Regarding CWAITE's changes in their channel list, nothing as such needed to be changed in mine (http://en.kingofsat.net/news28.2E.php) when I tested it (both SD and HD). Mine matched with KingOfSat regarding additions (http://en.kingofsat.net/new.php), removals (http://en.kingofsat.net/removed-28.2E.php), and those that have gone temporarily free-to-air (http://en.kingofsat.net/tempfta-28.2E.php).
    • 'TV5' in INTERNATIONAL is currently (temporarily) free-to-air even though a scambled icon (padlock) is next to the channel name. I didn't bother removing the small padlock because I don't know when the channel will go scambled again - it could be tomorrow for all I know and it would just be a waste of time to cook a channel list again just for that small padlock.
    • Channels like Sky Movies and Sky Sports change their names often for events and seasons, for example 'Sky Sci-Fi & Horror' becomes 'Sky Monsters' and 'Sky Sports 2' becomes 'Sky World Cup' (for cricket). When these events or seasons finish the channel names change back to their original ones thus I haven't changed such channel names because it becomes a nuisance keeping track of the names and by the time I change the names the event is already over (cricket world cup final is on 23/03/2015, 4 days from now).
    • SD and HD favourite groups are included in both channel list versions (even though SD favourite group is redundant in SD channel list) because it helps keep the channel list numbers the same (where possible) in both and also for a reference as it shows which SD channel has a HD alternative and vice-versa from which a user can tell if a SD/HD alternative is available (saves time). Also, see the 5th bullet point under 'Usage and notes' in the first post.
    • Even though some HD channels are free-to-air, not all of them have the same broadcasting as the SD channel and not all are 24 hour channels like the SD channels and so HD channels have be moved to the HD favourite group (instead of incorporating them in other groups) in the SD version of the channel list. Do note that any HD channels not found in the Sky UK listing isn't included in the HD group of the SD channel list version but they are included in other groups and in the Sat List (All channels view) and a full HD list is included the HD group of the HD channel list version (test and other languages included, not preferable but just for those that what it). 'Star Plus HD' is the last HD channel in the natural Sky UK listing, anything after that (in the HD group of HD channel list version) is not ordered.
    • Only 4 channels have been regionally changed from the neutral (BBC One, ITV1, Channel 4, and Channel 5). It is very easy to change it to what ever your region is (if such a channel is available) and it shouldn't take long at all nor cause big problems regarding channel numbers, lots of information is available on how to do this in this subforum. If you do make changes and are bothered about channel numbers then make sure to change the channel in the Sat List (All channels view) too and not just the Favourite groups. If you aren't bothered about the channel numbers but are bothered about the order of the channels..... then you would still have to change it in the Sat List too as the group orderings are dependant upon the ordering of the channels in the Sat List (All channels view).
    • Test channels are not maintained, anything goes.
    • Scottish, Irish, and Welsh channels are not maintained nor properly ordered as per my ordering system. Feedback is welcome to help keep these updated for those that want it.

As said just 3 bullet points up, lots of information is available on how to edit and even create channels (please look in the subforum which this thread is in or use the search box) and this can even be found in the manual of your box.

Leave any feedback - it's welcome! (AJ and CWAITE, I'm talking to you too x) )

That's got nothing to do with channel list. It's an XMLTV problem that everyone is experiencing whatever channel list they are using.
