was hoping someone can help me with Merc keys. Im using the big condor, I know this is the mini thread, but was hoping someone could help anyway.

The last few Merc keys I have cut havent worked, have tried multiple times & read & re-read & calibrated too.

attached is a pic of the key.....left is original, middle is a key I had cut by another machine & the right is the one from condor, I'm thinking its a blade problem?...does anyone know if there is an issue with the chinese blades?

blade problem, but another reason....thats different type of HU64 for MBenz... the latest at right i cut as HU64-3 only and everytime working...
the first on left i read soon as HU64 i think...but long time i read orig blade with eyes only, no any reading with condor directly..

The left key is cut to deep.
Like Daxxer said, decoding is the problem here.
    Use caliper and instacode.

Strange. When I click on the image with left mouse button then with middle mouse button I see rotated image. When the key tip is down the left side key is wrong.

Who need decoding orig HU64 key, post here good image of this orig blade....and i answer with code for Condor
then you can choose only "cut by bitting" and the new blade type and press CUT...
for me working: decoding through my eyes and go to direct cut by bitting...without read the orig blade in condor..
    many thanks to friend kevfield

the left is the original key & it works fine.

In your first reply daxxer, I am a little confused at what you are trying to say. Are you saying there are different types of HU64 blades? i didnt know this.

I had tried quite a few times to cut it & when I couldn't I tried a another local locksmith & the middle key is the one he cut, the right is the one from condor. Condor reads them all the same bittings

below is a pic of the original, if you could give me the bittings to it that would be great, but I still need to cut it to a blade that is the same as the type on the left to fit my key.

OK, so I had a bit more time this morning & sorted this one out. Just thought I would post the result in the hopes it may be helpful to someone else!

I measured all the blades everywhere I could, thickness, width & bittings. I read all of them multiple times in condor & they all came back the same, both the ones that worked & the ones that didn't. I had a good long stare at the blades until I went cross eyes & saw(my apprentice saw!) the the little groove down the side wasn't as long on the keys that didn't work. You can just see it in the first pic, the small ledge up the left side is far shorter on the keys that didn't work. I extended it with a rotary tool & it worked perfect. So long story short, faulty blades as daxxer suggested in the first place. I just wanted to see where and why for myself so I know.

Thanks all so much for you time as always. I hope I can be of help to you guys sometime soon!

schould be bitting code: 1353554223 and try to cut the profile as HU64-3 with function "cut by bitting" and schould be working
    understand now ???

    Hello Lush29,
Looks like there is something loose.
Did you turn the lever, to clamp the clamp itself?
And check if there is any play on the clamp arm.

The shadow line in the key bedding tells me that there is something loose.
You can see that it is cutting the bittings to deep.
    making a 1 a 2 etc.

And the cutter, is there any play on the cutter holder or cutter itself?

Did it cut both side the same? Bitting depth and cutter height?
