kess v2 external exception eefface after changed nxp

hi all!
I have kess v2 1.89 fw old, i try firmware upgrade usb... nxp cp3 locked.
replacing new nxp: link
rf6 component warm... jlink write 4.036 fw ok!
kess v2 all version started say: external exception eefface
sd card format and copy files ok.

please help how to solve?

I have the same problem like you, npx loked cp3.I bought the same processor tme.
I wrote bin with 3,099 jlink ok several times 1.89 and 2.06 kess program crashes, does not start
ERROR EXTERNAL EXCEPTION EEFFACE.sd card is good, I tried 3pc Windows7 Windows XP is the same problem

could you explain a bit more i got one similar case here

This is usually caused by 1 pin on the nxp chip not being correctly soldered. Check also all others pins too.

i got it working yes one pin not align well

1. Buy a new NPX chip with 60 tokens inside. Desolder the old NPX and change it with new.It cost 14-20USD, available at uobd2.net.



2. or you have to weld a connector on backside of interface ,and plug the J-link programmer.
You can reset the Kess v2 to virgin. UOBD2.NET is available with J-link V8, cost about 20USD. Note: the newest KESS V2 V2.06 is packed with J-link V8 programmer, no need buy additional one.

Details about j-link v8 solve Kess V2 master tokens limited problem:
Step 1. Buy one LPC2478 chip to replace the original one for KESS V2 master.
Step 2. Prepare for a LINK J-LINK V8 ARM USB-JTAG Adapter Emulator.
Step 3: weld a connector on backside of interface.

Step 4: plug the J-link programmer

i think you make confusion 1.89 and 2.06 ist not firmware ist version SW . firmware ist 3.099 ,4.036 and 5.017 (new).Version of firmware can read in info when connect programer to laptop and open software.
EEface -bad soldering NXP.
