    Default Tacho Universal Sync Error

Hey guys, just wondering if anyone uses the tacho universal odometer correction tool? and if you have come across the sync error? Mine came with a kit used to reprogram the main unit when this happens however it does not work.

I have just been using the tachosoft mileage calculator which is an absolutely awesome peice of kit. but there is no point having a non working tacho universal. any help would be awesome.

    Cheers
    Mick

If your tacho universal is newer IE : 2008.3 then use the following software , you need to make you own serial cable but the pin outs are shown on the software .

If the software does not work you can use the option in the pdf. if you need the option in the pdf give me a pm .

it goes into the 9 pin d shaped slot on the right hand side .

i think you only have to swap 1 or 2 wires over, if your not confident about making one than get someone local to knock you one up .

Did you not get the mainframe repair kit with you unit ?

Sort of related : there is a new version of the tacho universal called super tacho 2009 it has much larger coverage than the 208.3 and is also you can update the tool really does not lock out the only bad point is that it costs about ?1350.00.

Hi thanks for your reply....i googled the null modem cable..looks pretty straight foreward to me. and i did get the mainframe repair unit with my tacho universal but it doesn't work. i can program the two main chips no problem. but as soon as it comes to programing the 24c02 eeprom it keeps stuffing up. .. does anyone have a dump of this eeprom that i can load with my normal programmer???

Thanks again guys this site is awesome
