I just recently received my vvdi2 everything is installed ok but I've used it now on three different vag vehicles and everytime I seem to get a communication error how do you guys know what system to log into so say 2007 Skoda Fabia I can't seem to find which system to log in to to read PIN code etc is there not a auto-detect function?

I have tried a quick search but couldn't find anything to really help me sorry in advance of it's a simple question.
