    Default Discontinued support of Openatv5.1

Due to the release of Openatv5.2 for the Zgemma series I have discontinued support of Openatv5.1

    I will however leave my last backup image of Openatv5.1 on my dropbox if any member wishes to use;

    Code:
    https://www.dropbox.com/s/v22fphqzfbgjd3x/OpenAtv5.1%20Backup%20Image.zip?dl=0
For any user of Openatv5.1 on the Zgemma series, Openatv are still supporting this version of the firmware with nightly software updates, so you're quite safe to continue using 5.1

    A. Boot the Zgemma and carry out the post Initial boot up setup if required

    1. Select your TV connectiom type ie HDMI press Ok

    3. Select your Refresh rate ie 50mhz press Ok
    4. Select ?English UK? press Ok
    5. Press Ok at the User Interface setup
    6. Press Ok to use 'Wizard for Basic'
    7. Select 'Check Internet Connection'
    8. Press Ok if Internet working
    9. Setup Tuner A - Config mode scroll to 'Simple' , Satellite scroll to '28'2e Astra' ,Send DISCqC to 'Yes' leave all other options default, Press Ok
    10. Setup Tuner B - Config Mode 'equal to' Press Ok
    11. 'No scan Later' press Ok

    13. Press ?Exit? again when shown the German channel Bouquets

    B. Plug in your USB drive into the front USB port

    D. Find your USB drive in the list and enter each folder until you find 'rootfs' file
    E. Scroll to the 'rootfs' file and press Green

The zgemma will then flash the image, when the zgemma reboots remove the front USB and insert your Storage USB into the rear and continue with instructions from setting up the USB hard drive.
So can we use this method to install from front usb all the time?

This method can be used via the front or rear USB, however, the zgemma must have a working image on the box you can't Boot Flash. Also if you have a working Openatv image already on the zgemma you only need to carry steps B - E ensuring your downloaded 'zgemma' folder is on your USB stick drive.

PS. once you have my backup image on your box you don't need to reflash my updates unless you want the changes described (ie updated Kiddac skin, test HD channels or temp fix to a problem) the software update option in the software management will keep your zgemma up to date.

Yes, the Zgemma S is easy, just install the backup image and follow the instructions to setup the zgemma post installation.

The Zgemma H2 a bit more tricky, if your just going to use satellite only, all you need to do is disable the cable tuner via menu-setup-service searching-tuner configuration and set Tuner B to 'Not Configured' and your good to go. However, if you require the cable side you will have to configured the zgemma for cable ie setting up tuner B with correct Net ID and cable region, Autobouquetsmaker for cable and Crossepg for cable. As I don't have cable this is beyond my ability, but it's just a matter of asking the forum members on the cable sub forum or following a cable guide.

Crossepg doesn't support cable use epgrefresh and set it to scan channel PVR_EPG. You are best to follow instructions with net id but set it to scan provider vm 6952 instead of frequency steps then configure autobouquet maker for your vermin area. Once that is done set autobouquet maker to download first daily i.e 0530 then crossepg daily at 0545 then epg refresh at 0600. Set the times to suit yourself but scan in that order at 15 min intervals to give yourself a full epg for both sat and cable.

No password, user is root password should be left blank, ensure you have the correct IP address for you Zgemma, menu-information-network.

Backup ensure USB in back of Zgemma then,
Menu-setup-software management-backup image then red button for HDD your back will be located in HDD/fullbackup_zgemma.

All in the instructions @post 1 once setup just leave the Zgemma in standby at night and overnight the Zgemma will automatically scan for channel changes and upload a new 7 day epg.
