Yes I have same issue with adapter before update it work and after not working...apparently reading of NEC chips has been removed..I dont know when they planning to fix Bug

I did read a NEC with adapter two weeks a go with the latest software.There was no issue.

I killed one v57 nec when tried to read pwd a few times and failed to read pwd on another v57 chip with latest software.

Never had issues with prior versions

Hi,
One recommendation for nec v57 and v51, it is much better to do them as a normal bga, making lists and uploading them to server (I am not an owner
of VVDI MB device, so I don't know exactly they do it...), if you have some problematic EZS then this should be a highly recommended way to do it.
Also if you have only one key and the chance of screwing up the nec is 50-50% then I would not play with the working key putting nec on board for password extraction.

Yes. One I killed was an r230 so eeprom for the spare key anyways and just replaced the NEC chip

The second was a damaged key on a w211. When it didnt work I soldered to a spare board and did data acquisition.

Just annoying when it used to work perfectly

I have the data aquisition done, but I am out of calculating tokens and if I purchase the tokens now it will pass 1-2 working days untill I'll be able to calculate passwords online. As I said if you have a problematic EZS lets say W164/221 Old Type with a One and Only Key !!! if you destroy data or nec chip then you have a big problem …
