Hi everybody, i got a call from a customer with 08 w164 all key lost and before i drive i thought i can use a little bit of help so i will ask some questions that can probably help a lot of guys in this thread.
-first , i guess i will most likely find NEC eis in the car, do i have a way to know if its NEC just by the year?
-second, i know that maybe the only way of making a key is by replacing the eis with a new one and adapt it, do i need the exact same eis or just w164? When i get a used one do i need to get it withthe key in order to read the key pass? is there any other technique for this situation?
Any help will be appriciated, thank you.

I always have problem reading elv. orinal or emulator. eis read ok . is there a trick to read them. I have tried in car and on bench.

1.depend on your experience
2.you just need a good eis.this is not only way to get the key password,you can get it from the be key,you can calculate key password online for some eis,you can read by vvdi prog.

Today I failed at reading pass from W203 via IR.
When I read EIS when I try to read password I get message: "current eis don't support read password'.
I believe I need to remove EIS and read it on bench.
But maybe I could try this way:
I have one almost dead but still working key for W203. It is working 1 out of 10 times. I can read its data with MBTool and now the question is - what would happen if I write its data to a new key. Would the old key get deleted and the new one work or both of them would be dead?

no need the exact same eis.renewed the used eis,write the original eis data into the renewed eis,then make key

Have a guy with water damaged MB key, is the NEC chip the only one on the board I need to move for starting and remote functions? These kits require 3 things to be moved, 2 chips and I think the crystal.
