Question What could be the problem?

    Hi everyone

I have an openbox v8s, when plugged in no horizontal channels work. I did buy the fix for his from Amazon which never worked. Everything is up to date and the box works at my friends house. Stuck to what could be the problem. Any help would be much appreciated.

P.S My TalkTalk box gets signal to all channels without a problem using the same cable directly from the LNB.

    CONFUSED

Most likely your lnb needs changing if the box is working fine at your friends

That's what I was thinking but then the TalkTalk box works and finds all channels. That wouldn't be the case if it wasn't working would it? Been trying everything I can think of.

    Which TalkTalk box is that?

I didn't know that TalkTalk made a satellite box.

Talk talk box works through aerial and Internet. Not through dish.

Yep. Exactly. I use one myself. That's why I'm confused.

mikem93 says that he gets all channels when connecting his TalkTalk box to the LNB cable ???

He would as the box would still be using the Internet to stream channels connecting the dish wire is irrelevant

Only the premium channels are streamed. The freeview channels are received over the air.

Oh I didn't know that. I've also connected a sky box too would this work just from the internet. If everything else is fine with the box and it works at my friends house is the problem definitely with the LNB? It is a new LNB so could it be due to the satellite dish in the wrong place?

I take it you mean a BskyB sky box? Does that box receive horizontal channels?

I'm not really sure as I don't have a subscription with Sky so could only check on the freeview channels again. Oh and btw, the openbox did work when I first got it then I swapped it to my other living room and never worked since in either room.

Please do not connect the official TalkTalk receiver back onto the satellite dish connection as you will do more harm than good, as specified this receiver only needs a Tv Aerial connection and an Ethernet connection for the extra premium channels.

Any satellite receiver connected to your satellite feed will display the FTA channels such as BBC1,ITV,CH4 etc if it does nt then you have a problem either with alignment or again as specified above an LNB fault

Try the Horror Channel on both your boxes. It's FTA & on a horizontal transponder (11265H).
