    Default Jd EDL and Nexiq

Have Info on John Deere EDL and Nexiq

JD Magikey PDM and JD EDL have a 26 pin D sub 26 on Vehicle/machinery end of adapter and all leads are interchangeable between these 2 adapters.

Nexiq Magikey PDM and Nexiq USB link only have 15 pins D sub 15 and again I think all leads belonging to either of these 2 are interchangeable.I have done pinouts on them and they are the same as in post Nexiq started by cccosiminus.
So there is answer to most of our questions about Nexiq with JD.However in JD ECULP Hardware tab there is an option to use either JD magikey or HD Magikey [std] however I have not tried yet and of course would only work on machines with 9 pin deutsch and magikey is of no use with 30 series.
Many Thanks to the following members for there info on this and I hope I have left no one out.

I am sure I have left someone out and apologize to them.In short if you want to work with most of Service advisor you need at least JD magikey and if 30 series seems you have to have JD EDL unless someone knows how to rework a Nexiq USB link to the same outlet as EDL
    Regards To all col

colh you can use jd magickey on 30 series but wont talk to ecu as there are too many controllers for it to "talk" to at once and seems that it chooses not to talk to ecu, so you can do trans/hydraulic/tls/cab sus calibrations with it and i think also do data inputs as well. hope this helps and thank you colh for all your input in this area, top man!

Ok, if i buy a EDL V.2, it will of course work with JD, but anybody knows if it does the job of a USB-Link also? i mean can it reads all the ECMs that a USB link reads?
Please press thanks and + rep if i could help a little....

You have to use a John Deere EDL to be able to use the John Deere service advisor software with a machine .The John Deere EDL is a Nexiq USB link with different firmware inside and the out put connection is a 15 pin DB 15 instead of the to row DB15 or 25 parallel connection .
