Wrong remote. You need genuine part No. 6554YL for 2004 year without front fog lights. But in the post you say 2006, so is it 04 or 06? Give VIN and I will confirm what remote you need.

that vin number requires remote part No : 6554YL , 2002 to 2005 with no front fogs

6 remotes in total for 206

    1) 1 button remote for models without alarm up to 2001 part 6552ZW
    2) 2 button remote for models with alarm up to 2001 part No 6552ZX
    3) 2 button remote for models 2002 to 2005 with no front fogs part number 6554YL
    4) 2 button remote for models 2002 to 2005 with front fogs part No 6554YR
    5) 2 button remote for models 2005 to end of production with no front fogs , part number 6554YQ
    6) 2 button remote for models 2005 to end of production with front fogs , part number 6554YV

remember both will be seen on cross over years , so in 2005 it could be either , ive had 1 x 2006 model of 206 still on older remote .

my guess is you have used wrong remote .

    It's not rocket science,

Price the job correctly and professionally, only use original genuine Peugeot remotes and do your homework on the correct part numbers.

I have done around 50 of them and not used the wrong one yet.

its called giving a proper price, if the customer dont want to pay then say goodbye.

Seems like your too desperate for a job so trying to offer cheap prices to get the work... as other say how is 3d too expensive when your key didn't work.

as i said double the price provably the same profit i would have made if i bought a 3d remote a customer as a spare key so happy with that we all learn from our mistakes .

i buy from 3d and price accordingly , these jobs take 15 mins max to complete , 3d sell genuine parts that last , meaning you know they work and you know you can give a full 12 month warranty on remote , no hours of wasted time or multiple visits and no looking bad in front of customer .

before you quote , find and price the correct part , price codes if needed , add your profit and quote accurately for a quick job . some of the points made in above posts are good advice , you have wasted hours of your time and a remote you had to discount by 50% due to using the wrong remote , 3d would have been a cheaper option on this job especially if pricing the job correctly , plus you would have looked far better to the customer .
3D are the cheapest mainstream supplier , they are only to dear if your rates are too cheap , plus had you sent them the vin number they would have sent you the correct remote to vin , had you cut the key beforehand the job would have taken 5 mins instead of hours and you wouldnt have walked away short paid , instead you would have been paid in full in a fraction of the time , sounds good value to me.

we do learn by our mistakes you are right , one of the most valued lessons we learn is buy reliable trusted parts and kit , as call backs kill profit as does failures , price the job properly and dont undersell what you offer , in many cases buy cheap buy twice .

from your first post on this thread , 1 thing has confused me , you say you used skp900 to code key , then peugeot planet but couldnt get remote to work ? why did you use peugeot planet if skp900 had already coded key ? if the key was programmed to start the vehicle then you only had to manually code the remote in with the manual procedure if the correct remote of course . i cant understand why peugeot planet was needed if skp900 had done the job.

I use service box either Peugeot or Citroen to get correct part number and price job slightly under Dealer. The customer generally knows the price from the dealer before they ring you. Then order from 3D or other reputable suppler by OE part number. Never got on wrong yet. As I don't yet have key cutting gear I let them cut key too. Usually in my hand by 10am next day postage foc easy life.

i knew the part supplied could have been wrong so recoded keys and remote manually i usually by most of my parts from 3d seen a oppurtunity to make more profit and backfired on me lesson learned thank you.

The Vin is your best friend on these , register for peugeot service box and citroen service box and you will always know the correct part number on psa vehicles
