Default Having issues with new virgin super hub connection

Got new openbox v8 Pro and can't seem to get it to work with my VM broadband connection, I know the box is okay because I have been tethering with mobile all day watching the football. When I try & use my VM with either the ethernet cable or use the wifi dongle it works for a minute or so then shuts off and I loose the connection with the channel. Tried disabling firewall on hub and still no luck, don't know what to do now if anyone has any ideas.

Make sure your firewall is set to low in your superhub

Go into Network Settings on your box and turn the DHCP Off.

Now enter a fixed IP something like 192.168.0.150
    Subnet 255.255.255.000
    DNS Preferred 008.008.008.008
    DNS Alternate 008.008.004.004

    Click Apply and reboot box.

Settings need changing on your V8.

Some Open boxes just wont connect through Virgins Domain Name Server.

To direct it to a different DNS you have to use a static IP on your box (V8) then you can enter your own settings.

The DNS I use is Googles as shown in the pic.

That hasn't seem to work, I do keep getting message "network cable in & network cable out" then goes back to this Encrypted Program.

That message suggests a connection issue with your Ethernet cable.

Can you see the ip in your connected devices on your Hub?

Work for a minute then shuts off? Does the picture actually freeze on the screen? if it does, try the box without the sat cable in. If you can then get into the menus without it freezing then there is another known issue with one of the files that is in folder that is out of the bounds of discussion on the forum.

Try googling issues with V8 and (******)

Reading your original post again. It worked OK tethering from your phone That would suggest its the first problem I mentioned with Virgins DNS.

Reboot your virgin hub and the v8 box at the same time and you will see the result.

Still the same. The virgin hub goes red and shuts off when the box is on for less than 1 minute

Im with virgin and super hub wired connection downstairs and wirless connection up stairs on both v8s boxes, and never had any problems at all. Sounds to me like it your hub is knackered, is it the super hub 3 by any chance?
