That doesn't answer my question (implicit) about the .bmp files - why aren't there any to go with these?

So do you suggest to just install the Premium files?

What's with this 'ere dct file - there isn't anything like that on the SD card now - remember this is TomTom 6.

The bmp files are contained in the ov2 files.remember these are the tomtom supplied speed cams and are not like ordinary poi files.
therefore there are only 2 files ie ov2 file which contains all the data and bmp files then the ver file which tells you the version.
The dct file is needed to authorize the tomtom cameras(basically like a serial number to make a program genuine)
This is created with either the easytools or the easy activator from my first post.

VERY IMPORTANT Make sure you save a full backup of your tomtom first so you can always revert if you do anything wrong

sorry to be a noob, but is there any way to convert these newer .ov2 files to .gpx, or .csv so i can use them on garmin?

ive used poiedit in the past to do it, but it doesn't want to know with these all in one files.

Question.... is there a "how to" FAQ showing step by step instructions on how to put the new maps/cameras/etc onto a TomTom 730?

I mean.... from step one.. plug TomTom into computer.... step two.. turn on TomTom... etc!

I have never tried this, and if there was a FAQ on it, it would help greatly.

    Thanks!

I downloaded the latest camera files and copied them to my device. I then used the easy activator and it ran successfully but the camera files are not picked up by tomtom?

    Any ideas anyone?

check in your tomtom map folder that you have 3 files for your safety cameras
    ov
    ver
    dct

if they are there then they are on your tomtom ok
    then checkthe following

see if the cameras are enabled on your tomtom

    try this
go to the menu on your tomtom then to tomtom safety cameras
and make sure alerts are enabled and check the warning preferences are all set to your requirements

    that should help you

    Thank you cleggy.

The 3 files were present but I could not see them in the POI list.
I went to Menu, then Tomtom Services, Then TomTom Safety Cameras and that did the trick.

    Thank you.
