RNS 510 CAN BUS CHIP PROBLEM

Hey all,

I want to know if anyone know solution about a RNS 510 with CAN BUS CHIP PROBLEM on motherboard.

Symptom of this are :
- No light button when light turn on
- No communication with car (vcds, mfa, steering wheel button,...
- RNS 510 stop after 30 min.

Anyone saw this before ?

It looks like the radio is from other vehicle? Then you should connect diagnostic and pair unit with vehicle, because VIN numbers do not match, i suppose.

Hey thanks for your help but no. On these car and with this radio not need to match vin,etc..

I install all time unit on car without radio no problem. I know its the can bus chip on motherboard have problem. Because if I switch motherboard with another problem solved.

OK, what do you meen switch motherboard? Whole board from RNS or ? Did you found what chip is causing problem?

yes we have motherboard from working RNS 510.

No I don't know which chip and how to fix this its why I ask

There shoud be a chip with label 3510AA it is TJA1054. Not shure but check it, it is easy to replace maybe it will help

I can see chip "TCA1055T on the motherboard. You think its this defekt ?

I dont know but it is easy to start repair by replacing it or swapping from another unit, on RNS510 i have never changed, on some other radios i did

yes maybe swapping from another working motherboard this chip.

But you sure this chip is for can bus control ?

TJA1054 is CAN Transceiver and TJA1055 is also CAN Transceiver but TCA1055T i dont know what it is. I dont have RNS510 in my service but when i have it i will explore CAN on it and inform you

sorry its an error from me I can saw on my motherboard actually : TJA1055T chip

there is no power supply for TJA1054 after upgrade sw4XXX or more, pin BAT on picture, just bypass pin BAT and VCC, can will start work again, I have tested on may be 20 units...

Actually,problem lies in the ST10.
It is the one who controlls CANbus functions and acts as an Audio Gateway.
