please try the following coding (assuming your car ir LHD):

* Continental/Teves MK60EC1 and MK60;
* TRW systems in Passat B6 / B7 / CC /Tiguan;
* MK100;

Any background on the story? What has happened to the original coding? Maybe the module was replaced?

Also, you're telling that the ECU is altered, the instrument cluster was missing. Could you please look up the VIN number in the blocks (Engine, Instruments, etc). Should be somewhere available among Measuring Blocks. It might be that the ECU and/or cluster might belong to different car and different VIN might be coded there

Sorry for repeated numerous posts but some hint here: if you are using VCDS, go to "Advanced ID" function and check VIN there. Check for both, Engine and Instruments. Check every digit and letter. Make sure everything matches. If it doesn't, post the recorded VIN(s) in those blocks.
