    Default Swap of ECU's

    Hi all Kaosers,
    I have Peugeot 607 2.2 petrol 2001
possibly faulty ECU MAGNETI MARELLI IAW 4MP.15
and bought used one : MAGNETI MARELLI IAW 4MP.14
Found software on ebay which lists:
MAGNETI MARELLI 4MP.XX - ALL Version - Virgin
Do you know howto IMMO OFF? Or can I recode 4MP.14 from 4MP.15 ?
Do you suggest me some cheap HW programmer ?

I have some experience with soldering and electronics but never ECU.

    Thanks lot T

Yes. Programmers not available so much at Czech Rep.
Question. After virgin I expect to mount ECU back to car , than by Peugeot Planet do some recode of keys... do I need PIN ?
More about my ECU's. I got information that the my spare partnew one MAGNETI MARELLI IAW 4MP.14 is from a car with manual gearbox and swapping ECU's between auto <> manual and this type of ECUs is not possible :/
So I need to by another 4MP.15 then I will try to desolder EEPROM from old , solder to new.
    Thanks for advices.

No need to buy a new ECU, just swap 29F200 from old to new then you get every thing as it is 4MP.15

That's cool! It means no need of programmer. But are you sure the gearbox is not a real issue? SW and HW number on label differs.

SW and every thing you need are packed in the chip you moved, your .14 is now genuine .15. This ECU has no any other eeprom!

HW no. difference usually be only minor improvement on this ECU family, only make sure both having four ignition drivers (VB025) because the 2 liter ECU having only two!

So I have EEPROM desoldered from old .15 by hot air and soldered to new .14 . I feel was done precise.
While switching ignition on dashobard show everything as ususal except batterry warning, + gearbox error, than finishes with big OK on display - engine won't start, can't hear fuel pump.
On-board diagnostics says can't communicate with ECU.
    Gearbox communicates fine...

I think going to resolder EEPROM pins or look for another ECU or take it into some garage.
    Thanks for advices.

PS remote locks & unclocks doors fine, warning beep for forgotten key in ingnition works

So I have a dump of my orig flash from .15
    https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B3...TlxaW1wMEpyUDA
Is it possible to check if the data is corrupt or fine?
I have bought new am29f200 flashes so going to try write data and use at .14 ECU with praying the ECU will start the communicate.

Anything can be make done more?

maybe the program in the memory are different, first check both memory are 29f200, there are some with a 29f400, if 2 ecu have the same usually works ok, to be sure you an probe wit a virgin file and recode pin and car settings like gearbox, bsi , etc, one ask are you sure the ecu was the problem, maybe you have another problem, tell us more than why you are swaping ecus?

    Both 29f200
You mean if I write virgin dump from internet into flash I can setup even gerbox? I have automatic. I don't have BSI dump (yet). Only ECU dump. I do not have any pin nor key.
I going to try to write my orig dump into brand new flash memory than solder on board and try to connect to ECU via OBD tommorow. Or you think I should better try virgin dump from some forum?
    Thanks
Original problem is too rich petrol, black smoke, high consumption, unstable rpm. No HW fault found.

if you have original file from the ecu was fitted into de car , that file have pin there , will have to run ok, bif that dont happen you need put one virgin file but its have to be coded with key code and car system, like gearbox, comunication with bsi via mux or cable, you dont need mod bsi file. just if you put virign ecu you need coded like new one

    Hi all,
so I have positive feedback finally!
I have soldered original EEPROM into another ECU. This time it was IAW 4MP.14(2) originally from car with manual gearbox (mine car is automatic).
    The car starts and runs!
Therefore swap of this ECU is possible even for different gearboxes. Car just need only to EEPROM data be same. The relevant software is there.
PS my trouble was probably I was opening the ECU with too much force and circuit board got harmed probably. Next more gentle try with another ECU is working.

    Thank you all
