Unhappy Need 24C64 dump for Jetta 15 please!!!

    Hi guys,

I need your help please, does anyone have a 24C64 eeprom dump for a VW Jetta 2015 VDO cluster (part number 5C6 920 974E)?

The original eeprom of my cluster got broken when a stupid locksmith desoldered it. Now my cluster won't work.

I bought some spare EEPROMs but don't have the data that has to be written on the cluster's EEPROM.

I hope you can help me. I will really appreciate it.

Hi, thanks for your reply... is there any way to repair that cluster then?

Well if you write a similar eeprom file back, then your cluster will work again, but will show some error on the display.
Also your immo data will be corrupted/gone because it is stored crypted inside the eeprom, so for sure your car wont drive.

If the original contents of your cluster eeprom cannot be restored then you need to retreive your immo data from your engine ecu.
Then you can write it to a new (or your repaired) cluster, and learn new transponders

Hi, thanks for your reply. I just got an EEPROM from a Jetta 14 cluster. I read in a forum about cluster's swapping that is possible to write an EEPROM to make the cluster get into service mode. Something like writing FF's in certain addresses. Then, they use a tool to write the immo data in the EEPROM.

I don't know too much about clusters nor have access to those expensive tools but I understand about electronics. Do you think it would be possible to use the EEPROM I got (the one from the Jetta 14) to do something similar (put the cluster in service mode) or to "virginize" the cluster so a VW dealer can program it?

I would really appreciated it if you could shed some light on this.

    Cheers!

The problem is your immo data is lost if you don't have your original eeprom content.
So you first need to get that data back (read it out of engine ecu), then write some compatible eeprom back to your cluster, insert your immo data, learn new transponders, and clear any errors.
To do all this you need appropriate tools.

Without special tools you are in big trouble. The best way is buy new dashboard and go to the dealer to match cluster in this case.

Either way this cluster can not be done, There is no tool in market that can read this cluster ( 974) and make a key, your Lock Smith guy should know this.
This cluster is made after 06-2014 and like I said there is o tool on market that can do it.Also 2014 has different software and it can not be used in 2015 cluster, even they look different.

    Yugo, are you sure?
I can see SW version for 5C6 920 974 F (not E!) is SW0808 which is normally possible to do (up to SW0811 I believe).

Anyway, main problem TS has is to retreive is original immo from engine ecu without valid eeprom dump.
Best bet is to find a skilled person with proper tools.

What happend to the original eeprom? Did the idiot break some pins?
If yes, you still can try to recover it.

Yes 100% sure, most clusters after 6-2014 will still have software 08xx but not be able to read as all other made after 06-2014 with higher software.

    Except 3D , thanks to you .

It seems that he broke some pins, then tried to fix them and ended up burning the IC.
