    Default 93C46 read and write on board possible or not ?

    Hello,

    l have a 93c46 eeprom on a remote .
    l like to read it and write one on an other remote

    is it possible to do that with out dessolde the eeprom

    l read many threads sometime it's possible sometime not

    which tool using ?

    is your remote for mercedes A class

    then yes you can swap
    or you can read and write. try reading in circuit, if the programmer can not pull data and i am afraid you need to desolder.dont be afraid to desolder, it quiet easy . all you need remember is the orientation of the eeprom

    Had good luck on some, and bad luck on others. To be completely safe always read off board.

    Haven't killed on on board yet though.
    Please DO NOT PM me asking for help.

    yes it possible to read but somtimes you need desolding of the board

    thanks for your answers
    usually l desolde for reading and write
    but for this remote if l can read on board l prefer
    but if it's preferable to desolde , ok i ll desolde it

    I second this. I usually take a picture with my phone to remember the oriention in case I forget/get stressed out.
