So, done a fresh install of Windows 7 Home Premium. it downloaded and installed a few updates including Service Pack 1. But now after installing Windows Update Agent 7.6.7600.320 its no longer downloading updates. ive been trying for 10 days now leaving the computer on for hours at a time and no luck. does anybody have any ideas on this? Thanks in advance.... P.S its set to install updates automatically(recommended)

i had same problem, what worked for me was go into windows update and change the time to your next hour, if set at 5 and its 4oclock change it to 4 you can always change it back, or the next nearest hour.

I may be mentioning something that makes you sound retarded... but in Control Panel > System, does it show as genuine windows? If not, that's why you can't get updates.

Well it is a genuine copy of WIn7 so it should do. ive checked anyway and says Windows is Activated. ive had this copy working fine before but with an older motherboard and cpu. At the moment im running (AMD FX 4300 quad core cpu) and (ASUS M5A97 R2.0 motherboard) ive had problems before and started several fresh installs. this time on the fresh install at the begging I didn't enter the serial and not activate the install. if that makes any difference..? ( serial installed now and activated now )
