it doesn't matter at all you can use whatever cutter you want i was using the 2.5 mm cutter for everything for years and all the keys work just fine I switched over to the 2mm cutter though and the keys are a little smoother entering and leaving the lock now

I cut every single key with a 2 mm cutter now

Whith hu64 it says often times use 1,5.... and you can always use 1.5 with hu66 and others without problems.... A colleague alsway use 1.5.

No, it just shows you what cutter you have set in settings. 1.5 is needed only on very few keys. Machine gives specific warning when this is the case. Use 2.5 or 2 as suggested here in the forum for best results. I always use 2.5 and key works like it has been a part of the lock - no tension or any sign of excessive friction.

I noticed on some close spacing edge cuts like toyota 10 cut or nissan 10 cut its a little too steep the cuts and with 2mm it goes in and comes out smoother

don't get me wrong 2.5mm still works fine and turn the lock perfectly but entering and leaving the lock is just a wee bit smoother with 2mm

Well first you need to know what the hell you are doing

Second you need to buy yourself some reference materials like the Auto Smart books or the fast facts books

Theres no code on the door lock genius

You just wasted a lot of your time with this

Get the books and learn or continue wasting your time

    Your choice.......
