China MPPS V18 (V18.12.3.8 - Tricore cabel version)
Opel Astra H OPC (Z20LEH) Bosch ME7.6.2 ECU
    OBD Read OK
OBD Write Fails on 4%, recovery not possible with MPPS!!!

Managed to bring it back to life with Tech 2 SPS via OBD... So no issues regarding communications or faulty wiring.

Well, a cloned Tech 2 managed to re-flash a bricked ECU so i would say that the problem is in the tool not the ECU.
I know for a fact that EDS Motorsport IPF writes these ECUs reliably.

i have used all genuine tools for this ecu (and all clone too) and the problem is in the protocols of the ecu.
alien, dim and others, when released this protocols have warned all users for this problem...but many user try to reflash it anyway...6 time on 10 the ecu was bricked, all tuners know this

Problem is not you tool, this ecu type has a problem, I checked this ecu with original kess , and when I chose this ecu type , kess pop up warning about this Ecu, protocole not reliable, I guess you was lucky with your Tech 2!
Kess let me read this ecu but every time with warning!

    Let me correct my statement.

MPPS can flash this ECU but you must NOT use the latest OEM software update/revision.
Older file versions work OK, latest update has an few additional lines of code, maybe some rudimentary tuning protection.

Anyway my ignition cut mod is finally on the car.

Yesterday made an Passat MED17.5 ECU in boot, allways made cks by OLS, but this time try only MPPS, and it didnt´work, car start but stall, and tbi stays cicling, KESS could not make recovery, make CKS by OLS and everything was Ok.

So my advice is not to trust 100% in CKS on MPPS V18
