Check network adapter in device manager
Try device manager>network adapters>right click and update and then restart computer.
You could get latest network adapter driver from asus site and do it manually. hth

Sorry for late reply been really busy workwise, Thanks, DOUGALMCD, really appreciate your help. So check network adapter settings, not sure what to check for, is it a yellow exclamation mark or similar also is it easy to install manually from asus website? Is it easy for someone who is not fully au fait with this kind of thing

Hi all, sorted, the rj45 cable was faulty even though it was a brand new cable, certainly didn't expect that. A big thank you to all who tried to help.
