    Default win 10 will not connect to internet

    last year nov dec three of my grandchildren with laptops in same house found they could not connect to the internet told me about it about but because time of year never got round to do anything other devices in house can get on internet 2 firesticks and there phones i think that was why they never pushed for my help yesterday my granddaughter asked me to have a look it seems about december there was issue win 10 updates resulting in not being able to connect to the internet could anyone throw any light on this

    There was a bug in updates concerning dhcp protocols.read the link in the post or try getting updates for the laptops in question

    so you recon the update caused problem will try the fix you mention in a previous post

    some more information would be of some help. is the computer getting an ip address from dhcp? have you tried setting a static ip address? windows 10 can be problematic with connection issues. first id try doing ipconfig in command prompt and if ist seeing gateway/getting an ip address do ipconfig /renew.

    If you'd read the full threads you'd find a work around posted by the register however yes your correct on more info was needed to make a good diagnosis
