There are other options for codes as well. For no frills, basic codes on line, at very reasonable price, Blackhawk codes, operating at lockcodes.com. Just allows you to cut down on number of code books on mobile van. They work well with Android system. BUT, like I said no frills, just codes.

I'm waiting for the first on line video of someone doing side milled keys with a dremel grinder with an end mill for a bit. There are a lot of us out here that still use that file, keyblank, and a pair of vice grips. These days, add in a pair of 4x reading glasses because 60-something eyes don't see as well as they used to. My only real electronic code machine is HPC Blitz, I have curtis clippers for standard auto keys. I do side milled with depth keys on manual machine.

    Hi,

Could anyone help me to find bitting for BMW HU58 key.
I have picked the lock like ten times but instacode says "bitting not found...".

Picking: 34X42433X334 (option 33X42433X334). Is there any way to find missing ones?
    Thanks!

    Post the accured readings.

    Lube cilinder first.
Apply same light pressure on every reading.
    Write down Heights including decimals.
    Some good lighting might help.
    A row
    B row

    Then post these,
Your previous combination are not correct.

You wont get the exact manufacturer code from your lishi reading , you get the correct key as long as you are using the 4 lifter tool and reading A and B lifters from the correct grid as each has a different grid , however the exact manufacturer code is more difficult , as it can be any one of 64 codes assigned to cut the exact same key . ie each position can house 2 different values to cut same cut , ie a 4 can be entered as a 4 or a 5 , a 3 can be entered as a 3 or a 6 cut , a 2 can be entered as a 2 or a 7 cut and a 1 can be entered as a 1 or an 8 cut , either way it will cut the exact same key. so as 2 possible values per position would be , 2x2x2x2x2x2 which = 64 code possibilities for same key . add to this that with an 8 and 4 next to each other dealer would label them H and Q , 2 x 4 cuts sat next to each other , dealer would label these QQ , 2 number 8 cuts sat next to each other the dealer would label as HH just to add confusion.

you can cut the key from the code you have as long as the 4 lifter tool was used and the reading is correct , why would you need the code the manufacturer has assigned ?

ie your reading could be entered into a machine in 64 different codes to cut same key , thus instacode doesnt have codes , in fact even the cutting machines dont have codes , this is because the codes are direct cuts rather than a code , ie direct cuts of 6767HQ would be reversed for the manufacturer key code , so would appear as key code of QH7676.
thus as direct cuts reversed there is no code , and as the same key can be cut with up to 64 different codes it would be a needle in a haystack to get the one the that dealer has assigned to your reading .

your reading of 442433 , would be an odd reading to get on the 4 lifter lishi as suggest the lock has no inverted wafers in it , if not using the 4 lifter tool you will not get an accurate reading . but although an odd reading to get with the 4 lifter tool its not impossible , but if using the 4 lifter tool and this is the reading you got then you would have only had to use the 2 A lift lifters or the 2 B lift lifters and not a mix of both .

    so your code of 442433 could be listed in many different ways that include ;

    442433
    QQ2433
    557463
    452536
    557566

and so on and on and on , all would cut same key

but if using the old single lift tool , you will not get an accurate decode

there was never a 2 lift tool for the va6 , just a single lifter and a 4 lifter tool , the single lift tool is a pick only as doesnt accurately decode , the 4 lifter tool decodes the lock perfectly
